The FIT 101 is used to measure the performance of fluorescent inks, for research, development and quality control purposes. These inks are used in covert and secure marking for the packaging and postal industries. The system uses an integrated 6W mercury lamp as the excitation, and fluorescence is measured with a spectraradiometer. The sample chamber is fully enclosed to minimize exposure to UV radiation. Information on peak fluorescence wavelength, signal to noise fluorescence ratio, and detailed spectral information are provided through an easy-to-use interface to a popular spreadsheet program.
